Pros

- Fringe benefits (especially transit subsidy) - Young people in the office

Cons

- If you have a college degree, and any other office experience, you are too qualified for the Research Associate position - This is the "safety school" of entry level jobs; no one's first choice was CoStar - There is no critical thinking involved in the job - You enter data and never work towards anything - Every single day is exactly the same - Can be disheartening calling people all day long who really don't want to talk to you - Micromanaged from a company perspective, but not individual manager; i.e. punching in/out, mandatory 30 min break in day, recording your calls - Don't kid yourself, you're working in a call center

CoStar Group Response

Based on your advice to management, it seems that you took a position you knew would not be a good fit for you in the first place. I’m sorry that you feel you haven’t been able to develop in your role, but we offer a number of opportunities for promotion, as well as transitions to roles that focus on specific aspects of the industry. Our researchers develop relationships with their contacts in the commercial real estate industry, and with new development opportunities within the company they are able to use the expertise they gain to influence the success of the real estate market. We appreciate any feedback we receive, but I encourage you to look at your role and see what aspects you can focus on to develop new skills and expertise. Any job is what you make it.

Pros

I worked for Homes.com - Great first job out of college to learn a lot about sales and can make good money in the first 3 months - FIND PEOPLE THAT HAVE DONE THIS JOB AND HAVE LEFT AND FIGURE OUT WHY CUZ THEY'LL TELL YOU

Cons

I worked for Homes.com - You're doing 3 jobs in one and the pay does not reflect that - it is churn and burn. The average tenure here is 7 months - Management doesn't know what's going on 3/4 of the time. It is all up to the CEO and he's on his private jet more than 3/4 of the time
