Pros

While my work environment was a negative one, that wasn't a common thread amongst several other departments. Recruiting, Legal, Marketing, HR - these all were led by wonderful individuals who truly cared about CoStar and the employees they managed. They manifested positive atmospheres for their employees and strived to make every day a successful day at CoStar. The outreach programs and training was also wonderful. There are some incredible employees at CoStar who do want to make a difference and that was always wonderful to see on the bad days.

Cons

Unfortunately, I was one of several departments that was consistently berated with negative experiences and lack of strong management. While I was in a management role - it was impossible to provide my employees with the professional support they needed because of the mismanagement above me. No matter what I did or said - nothing could truly change the workplace we were left in. Friday donuts, employee lunches, coffee outings to assist employees who were having a difficult time coping with the department - nothing could change until our management structure was altered. Unfortunately, tenure leads to incredible things and even though I repeatedly reported shockingly poor behavior by a member of senior management to HR many times, nothing was done. This individual continues to cause an alarmingly high level of turnover in the department, and led me to ultimately leave as the work atmosphere no longer became a place I was able to succeed in any longer. While HR did as much as humanely possible, they weren't given any room to make any changes either. Unfortunately, I was left a target for several months after my meetings with HR and the workplace became truly unbearable for me. I've managed a multitude of departments successfully, but without any room to modify things or even do my day to day job - there was nothing I could do. Our department success was solely measured by metrics and while my personal metrics more than doubled the next individual behind me - I was aggressively told that I was not completing my day to day task on a regular basis. With a few simple changes, this department could become a constructive and wonderful place to work. I hope CoStar puts forth the effort to make these revisions in order for their employees to feel comfortable and safe coming into work again. I know the can succeed and I truly hope they do!

Pros

I worked for Homes.com - Great first job out of college to learn a lot about sales and can make good money in the first 3 months - FIND PEOPLE THAT HAVE DONE THIS JOB AND HAVE LEFT AND FIGURE OUT WHY CUZ THEY'LL TELL YOU

Cons

I worked for Homes.com - You're doing 3 jobs in one and the pay does not reflect that - it is churn and burn. The average tenure here is 7 months - Management doesn't know what's going on 3/4 of the time. It is all up to the CEO and he's on his private jet more than 3/4 of the time
