Pros
I was lucky enough to land a position with Costar right out of college. I joined the research team and had a lot of success in that position that led me to a lot of extra attention and development programs within the organization. These allowed me to be able to develop much further into other roles. Great benefits, and overall very positive trajectory over the last year in employee standards. Another pro of working with Costar Group is the size and spending power, and the ego that comes along with working for the company that has the most. You will probably find your next best set of friends in this organization. It is a really fun place to work if you get bored easily. You will never ever have nothing to do or be bored here.
Cons
In order to get these special opportunities, you will have to work harder than anyone else, take on a lot of extra responsibilities that are not necessarily tied to an increase in pay, and stay very stoic about it. The room for movement is great, but, it is going to take serious dedication to get there. Internal pay increases are, well, not amazing. Starting salaries are really good, but, raises thereafter are fairly skimpy, especially when moving from one role into another. Anything over 15% has to be approved by executive leadership, so, there are many occurrences where individual contributors are paid very closely or higher than their supervisors.
