Pros
Insurance, benefits, good amount of time off, no after hours or on-call work, and holidays off.
Cons
No room for growth and no incentive to work here. They give clerks who make $14.62 an hour supervisory duties and call it "teamwork" with no compensation. When you mention a raise or cost of living adjustment, our elected official will tell you go to the the board of commissioners and ask or quit. The elected official only cares about the people who are in her "crew" (attorneys, other judge, court administrator, chief clerk) and does not care for anyone else. I have worked here for over three years with no raise or cost of living adjustments, but I was given A LOT more duties. They will take advantage of a really good worker and then just tear them down. Hopefully, a new elected official will do things differently, but, for now, things will not change; we have tried really hard to do so.
