Pros
I was fortunate enough not to be fired when consolidated took over and started, "cleaning house." I guess that could be considered a Pro.
Cons
-Before consolidated took over I had a pretty good job. Customers absolutely loved me because I would go above and beyond to fulfill their needs. My managers took good notes on my performance, and I worked 40-50 hours a week depending on the season; all was well. -Consolidated has been running things for 6 months now and the changes have been dramatic. -On average, our sales team went from rating the company 8.5/10 to 4.5/10 (just one month after new ownership). -Dealing with obtuse middle management -All of our good sales people (the veterans) jumped ship or retired before (or shortly after) Consolidated took over. -Our sales team was drastically reduced in size (layoffs) and the rest of us are expected to just pick up the slack without replacing those who quit or were let go. -14 hour days are an expectation on many routes, no overtime of course. -2/3 of our local office support staff was fired, the remaining 1/3 took major pay cuts (tens of thousands of dollars). -Constantly placed in catch 22 decisions that hurt customer relationships. -You will work 12 hours a day just to do the absolute BARE MINIMUM. If you want to perform well, be prepared to work 70 hours or more each week. -If the customer needs an extra delivery because of unforeseeable circumstances, you can fight through your sloth-like middle managers to get them one. Then you will be reprimanded by management. If you tell the customer, "No, we cannot afford to make an extra delivery," and they call corporate, you will be reprimanded by management. Can't win. -The company has lost all respect for customers, and you get to be the bad guy that deals with angry customers daily. -I am pretty young, and I can switch careers without it being a big deal, but I feel sorry for the guys that have put in 20-30+ years here. They had a pretty good thing going with CCR, and they lost everything over night. Seems to be the trend in retail sales.
