Pros
I enjoyed being able to write my own menus and cook for elderly. Most retirement homes do not serve good food and I was able to do that. I liked the business manager and a lot of the care staff, and the servers were awesome.
Cons
I shattered my collarbone last summer and they laid me off without telling me they had replaced me. The chef and the GM (who is not currently there) avoided my calls and texts for three weeks and finally when I got ahold of the chef (who is not currently there) they just nonchalantly told me they “had to find a replacement”. We were short on staff and I knew it would be rough and I would have understood but they didn’t have the decency to let me know I didn’t have a job when I came back. It’s just a common respect of those you work with and they neglected to communicate their plans. Just unprofessional. I ended up hiring the guy they replaced me with at my current job after he had similar issues with the chef and GM.
