Pros
There are some good people to battle in the trenches with on a daily basis.
Cons
Management team is completely disconnected and does not seem to plan at all. No comp plan, quotas/targets, or guidance given to sales teams within the first half of the year. It’s been communicated that a good chunk of the comp plan is based on company performance, personal performance (which there are no goals defined), and the percentage of college graduates placed in projects you sell, which sales people have no control over. Because there are no sales plans provided and it has been communicated that there are a lot of variables outside of your control, there is no way to calculate your overall compensation and you just have to trust that Cognizant will treat you fairly, which they’ve shown they are not real keen to do. There are no real opportunities to sell services directly into accounts. Rather, you are pulled into RFP after RFP with very little support or chance of winning. There are no boundaries set within the company and you are contacted 24X7 with the expectation that you’ll be accessible.
