The three owners of Colectivo are ignorant and unwilling to change or update processes, training procedures or even workplace safety issues. "This is how we've always done it" is the motto that the company operates under and it's incredibly disheartening to any employees who want to improve their work environment or make the cafes safer for customers and employees. Every department in the company experiences high turnover, which makes it difficult to establish a team atmosphere and ensure that employees are properly trained. The public has this image of Colectivo as an environmentally-friendly, locally-focused company yet the cafes do not even have recycling bins for customers to use. They also source many wholesale things (such as the bags that bulk coffee is packaged in) from China, which is neither environmentally-friendly nor local.
