Pros

Colleagues below management level keep the boat afloat.

Cons

If you are director level or below. You are expected to do the job of management. If you stick to your job, you are fired. You constantly are told you must do the work of the person above you or you will be terminated. Executives are chosen purely by friendships. Management, especially VPs, pass blame for their errors on non-managers. All my coaching and support the short time I’ve been here have been from someone below. Feedback is usually met with backlash. Pay is not competitive as promised. If I stayed, I would end up 20% below similar people. Right now, I’m breaking even.

Pros

Great coworkers to be around, great benefits, work-life balance was perfect before the middle management layoffs. Collaborating with teams is constant and helpful for the design process.

Cons

They cut the research team, relying on designs to take on that plus end-to-end products, which leaves to heavy work loads and late nights. Deadlines are rather quicker than usual since the reorg.
