Pros
Very collaborative environment, with great research resources for biomedical engineering given the nationally leading Vet school at CSU. The biomedical engineering program is fantastic, with great classes overall, and a growing number of students and faculty. The school is largely independent of state funding, and brings in a large amount of research and philanthropic money. Plus, Fort Collins is a great city to live in.
Cons
Standard academic politics do apply somewhat, though I believe it is better than many places. As always, specific experience will largely be determined by your student-advisor relationship. Student funding is largely on a cases-by-case basis, make sure you understand clearly what it will and won't include before you wind up in a financially dry spot.
