Pros

- people you work with are generally really nice. This company only hires people with great soft skills or at least tries to. - great culture. - great place to start your career in banking because you get to learn it all. You will be a teller, a banker, and a loan originator - all in one position called universal associate. - tuition reimbursement program. You get up to 3000 per year towards your tuition.

Cons

- your pay will be far below industry average. In nearly 4 years, the sum of all my raises is less than $1 and I was given a promotion twice. - the company constantly cuts associates' hours and there are a lot of layoffs. - very few career opportunities, especially in smaller cities. Want to be stuck in the same position for ages, never grow and never be challenged? Umpqua Bank is the perfect fit for you. - your effort is nearly never recognized or appreciated. Bottom line... This bank is not doing well anymore. Jump the ship or sink with it.

Pros

Columbia Banking System has been a great place to work for thus far. The environment is enjoyable and the company itself is virtuous.

Cons

There is quite a bit of downtime in-between customers, but this is also a pro because it means there is ample opportunity to get more customers through the door and banking with us.

Pros

Great People, generous Vacation and Sick time, and decent facilities.

Cons

Poor communication from leadership. Typical "Good ol' Boys Club" type politics, and too many convoluted policies and procedures to keep up. Hard workers are awarded with more work, while others are allowed to skate by under the radar.
