Pros

Culture seems more supportive than other banks and I liked the training opportunities. CEO was very positive and seemed to want what was best for the employees. Depending on who your branch manager was you could be in a very supportive environment with great coworkers.

Cons

In the beginning, they seemed to preach less of a sales mentality and more of a community mentality, but that mindset didn't always trickle down to the different branch managers. The quality branch managers were far and few between. You either got managers that were sales greedy and just wanted the numbers to make themselves look good but not doing any of the work, or the managers that just didn't care. By the time I left it just seemed to be getting worse because turnover was so high.

Pros

Columbia Banking System has been a great place to work for thus far. The environment is enjoyable and the company itself is virtuous.

Cons

There is quite a bit of downtime in-between customers, but this is also a pro because it means there is ample opportunity to get more customers through the door and banking with us.

Pros

Great People, generous Vacation and Sick time, and decent facilities.

Cons

Poor communication from leadership. Typical "Good ol' Boys Club" type politics, and too many convoluted policies and procedures to keep up. Hard workers are awarded with more work, while others are allowed to skate by under the radar.
