Pros
Management sells the bank as being a local choice, with an emphasis on service & relationships.
Cons
Management refuses to upgrade systems, undercutting service. They would rather pay for half-assed internally developed software that lags behind the competition than pay branch associates, meaning associates are busier than ever and unable to provide the advertised service. While some staff duties have been taken over by remote offices, ostensibly to free up time for staff (and justify the layoffs), the remote locations have horrible customer service and ended up alienating most of my long-term clients. There is no opportunity for advancement. There is also rampant double-think, a la George Orwell. For instance: "We call all of our locations 'Stores,' not 'Branches,' because we don't focus on selling." Apparently they don't know what a store is and what you go there to do.
