Has significantly gone downhill in recent years.
CMS Quality Star rating decreased to 1 star in 2021. Glassdoor will not let me post a link, google “Beckers Hospital Review 2021 CMS 1 star hospitals” and you will find the article detailing all 1 quality star rated hospitals in the US. Columbia Memorial is the only 1 star hospital in the state of Oregon.
Micromanagement by administration has a chokehold on department managers that is beyond stifling. Do not seem to accept/seek/consider input from managers, instead issue directives re managing of departments, which are often harmful to department due to administrations lack of knowledge and unwillingness to ask for or listen to input from those most familiar with department functions. Happens across the board in most departments.
Administration bullies managers/staff and providers.
There is a severe lack of respect for doctors in this organization that starts from the very top of administration, including the COOs refusal to address physicians by their professional titles, a conscious attempt to undermine their leadership role in healthcare and demote them in perception.
This organizations primary focus is profits. They claim to be saving to build a new hospital, but executives are paid extremely well for a rural critical access hospital.
They perpetually fail to maintain adequate staffing levels. This was true before COVID and has only gotten worse.
