Pros
Some of the kindest and supportive people in the Ad Ops Team. They were always there to help when needed and work so hard on their accounts. Decent benefits including free Cable/Internet and Stock Purchase Plan. The decision to let Operations stay fully remote was one of the best decisions the company made.
Cons
The workload was ridiculous considering how little they pay their employees. A barely livable wage is insane with the amount of stress/anxiety that leadership places on their direct reports. Working during COVID was a monster as clients pulled budget and Sales took it out on everyone else. Account Executives were stressed due to losing budget from cancelled sporting events and the Olympics and leadership did nothing to mitigate the tension between Ops and Sales. Constant pointing fingers games between the departments on issues instead of just focusing on coming to a solution together. Awful training and onboarding. 2 weeks of pointless videos to then have a member of the Learning team flew in to teach us how to do the job. The training involved simulations that didn't work and didn't teach us anything. We were supposed to have a week of shadowing on the job but it was more like two hours. I felt so unprepared starting my job and working on accounts that I felt I was set up to fail. Once again, pay was well below industry average for all positions. It's not shocking that almost all reviews for Effectv mention pay as a con. It was my first full time job out of college so I took what I could get but definitely negotiate your salary in the interview. They will do whatever it takes to pay as little as possible. Promotions are very tricky to get and if you want one, you need to work so so hard to get it. Usually based off someone leaving the team and needing a spot to fill. Transitioning to another department internally is way more difficult than it needed to be. I interviewed for countless Ad Strategist/Portfolio Strategist roles but was told no because I was not based in the cities the roles were in. Mind you this was still during COVID and the whole company was remote with the RTO plan being put on hold so it felt like I was stuck and couldn't move to a new department for reasons outside my control. Ended up leaving after two years to a company and a huge salary increase which was so needed.
