Pros
Can pay pretty well during the good years. Not a lot of micro-management going on. Very good benefits. Nearly free cable TV and Internet.
Cons
Virtually no opportunity for advancement. Those that have been working there for many years (more than 10+) are pretty set up, especially if they have agencies on their list. Anyone coming in new is up a creek...even if you have many years of experience. Very high account churn. Averaging 35%-40% per year (and up to 75% on a bad year)...depending on what office you are in. Very difficult to build a foundation with such high account churn. You have to re-build your business each year. Agencies are top priority, instead of Comcast Spotlight employees. A select few A.E.s have large agencies. Agencies are serviced by a single A.E...Instead of A.E.s following accounts wherever they go. This adds to the account churn for many A.E.s. You can work with an account from infancy to maturity for years...only to have it swept away by an agency that belongs to someone else. Those with large agencies don't prospect...they let the agencies do that for them. This creates an unequal...or unfair workplace. More than 50% of your time will be spent in data entry and problem-solving, instead of selling. Management made misleading claims and dodged direct questions during interview process. Mostly only negative reinforcement...very little positive reinforcement from management. Upper management rarely visits outer offices...and has very little idea what specific difficulties are outside of their home office. Management is not helpful...and appears to have no idea how to help...They mostly only provide negative reinforcement. The high account churn, and continual negative reinforcement will cause you to be very stressed and full of anxiety most of the time.
