Pros

The work is hard & I loved it. I did housekeeping & laundry. Always busy & lots to do

Cons

Little to no training. High turn-over rate. Working really hard & doing everything right only to be told that you're too slow. The industry standard is 14-16 rooms per housekeeper & 2 housekeepers per suite. We were expected to do 20-25 rooms each in 7 hours, no matter how big the rooms were (some have 4 beds). Also had to stock & dump your own cart, no runners. I had no training in laundry & was expected to do all of it (85 suite hotel) by myself!

Pros

The housekeeping supervisor is a great guy. Very personable and easy to talk to. He is also very dedicated to the job and sets the bar high for customer service.

Cons

The owners do not value their employees. Low wages and lack of tips make the position very discouraging. There are never enough sheet sets or towels to replenish the rooms and housekeepers end up hiding towels from each other just to get their job done. One dryer is down and the part to fix it has been sitting in the office for over a month. However, the owners could care less about sending someone to repair it. Meanwhile, we go hours waiting for towels and sheets to dry. What could possibly be a decent position is made more difficult by greedy, uncaring owners.
