Pros

The clients Make your own schedule

Cons

CPR training is done on the computer, no hands on. The whole process takes 10 min, pass test and you're certified. When asked about it, reply, "we do the minimum requirement....We've never had to use CPR on a client....we assume you know what to do. Clients complained about office staff, care from people coming in. Never hearing a good comment of CK from clients, their families or in the community. ALL negative. I was embarrassed to say I worked for the company, which is why I left. I won't work in a company I don't respect. Upon resignation, I was told by the office manager that they have a high rate of turnover. That employees are like used car salesmen. They stay, work and move on when they find a better salary or bonus. Sometime they come back 3 years later. I understand the moving on part, but compared to a used car salesman? One morning, I woke up very dizzy and concerned about driving and called the office ASAP, I was concerned about my client being left alone. I called but the manager said she had the same thing, took lots of vitamin c and still went to work. She said she'd find someone to take my client. I don't think she even tried. I found my medicine but still dizzy and nauseous trying not to let my client know I was sick, fortunately, the client was only 5 min down the road..... Pay rate is $9.50/hr. Not worth the frustration. I stayed longer bc of my clients than I wanted, knowing they didn't like Comfort Keepers. I left bc the job frustration was effecting the environment in my home. Twice I called about 2 different issues, was told I would be called back but never was Upon hiring, person said we just do whatever we need, like we were taking care of our children.

Pros

Ever since our local franchise was bought back in October of ‘25 I have only seen positives ! They brought on wonderful incentives for the caregivers, better mileage compensation and opportunity for pay raises.

Cons

Unfortunately, the cons fall on to the caregivers, themselves. Way too often we get urgent emails begging for a caregiver to cover another one’s shift. I guess responsibility is a dying art.
