Pros

Get to meet a lot of truly wonderful elderly people and offer them compassion and companionship.

Cons

they charge clients more than double what they pay you you end up in a position where you are mostly doing housework rather than elderly caregiving in most homes. It's just so sad that the care of our elderly is not more valued. A lack of scheduling people by zones, like sending them all the way across town when they live closer to other clients. The low pay attracts a lot of people who don't take their jobs as seriously as they should.

Pros

Great pay and benefit opportunities. The message of the company is good and the owners are incredibly welcoming. They provided all the equipment and were quick to get you whatever you needed.

Cons

The office environment was extremely toxic. It was very "cliche" with everyone saying awful things about each other. Yelling, slamming and throwing things was a regular occurrence. The lack of empathy towards the clients as well as caregivers was abhorrent. The training was lackluster with the view of corrective action instead of preventive action with mistakes. I was constantly ignored or snapped at when asking questions. After spending a day training at another office, I fully believe the toxicity is centered around this one office in particular and does not translate over to the other offices.
