Here’s a two-paragraph review based on your experience: --- My experience as a hotline specialist at Common Ground was deeply disappointing. The entire training process felt more like an indoctrination camp for radical left-wing ideology rather than a professional development program. Instead of fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, the trainers continuously pushed extreme political views, openly mocking and expressing hostility toward conservative perspectives. Regardless of political affiliation, an organization that claims to support people in crisis should maintain neutrality and respect for diverse viewpoints. I doubt that the donors who contribute to this organization would be pleased to know that their money supports an atmosphere of blatant political bias. True inclusivity means respecting all perspectives, not alienating half the population. Beyond the political issues, the overall quality of training was abysmal. Many participants dropped out before completing the sessions, likely due to the ineffective teaching methods and lack of professionalism. The trainers were uninspiring, and their presentations were so poorly executed that at times it felt like I was being pranked on a comedy show. Management did little to address these issues, allowing the low-quality training to continue unchecked. They also enforced a rigid and almost robotic approach to engagement—if someone even glanced away from the screen, they were immediately asked, “Are you okay?” rather than a more natural question about engagement. The entire experience was frustrating and felt more performative than genuinely supportive. I would not recommend this organization to anyone looking for meaningful or effective training.
