Pros

If you work for a department other than development, there seems to be a lot of opportunity for team building, relationship building and upward growth within the company. Other departments seemed much more collaborative and healthy. They also offer a decent benefit package that is better than the average.

Cons

I worked in an extremely toxic department run by an extremely toxic manager. I was belittled, bullied and disrespected, as well as gossiped about by the manager. Words can’t even begin to describe my experience here. I also watched this manager treat others this way, sometimes solely because they didn’t like a certain coffee brand or because she didn’t like the way their face looked. No exaggeration. That is exactly what it was like. I was given a huge assignment and did an excellent job but every time I would go to turn the project in, completed and done based on specifications given to me, the manager would suddenly shift every thing and tell me it wasn’t done. Then she would tell my coworkers that I wasn’t getting it done, when I was. It was like being in the twilight zone. It was clearly just a sick game for her and it caused immeasurable harm to my mental health and well-being, as well as my ability to work and function in that environment. I was also told by this same manager that none of my coworkers liked me. So, I interviewed each one and asked how I could improve. They had nothing even remotely negative to say about me. It was quite literally like being in an abusive relationship, and the manager got away with it completely. Our department was one of the worst performing departments because of bad management, and we were never allowed to interact with other coworkers or participate in workplace functions. I tried joining committees but was blocked by my manager from ever attending as she would schedule mandatory 4 hour meetings constantly, and then yell at me when I asked for less meeting time so I could attend and participate in other workplace meetings. The manager would frequently discuss inappropriate things, call people names, talk about coworkers behind their backs and incite drama and conflict, This was by far the worst place I ever worked. Little to no accountability for management, highly political environment that’s all about who you know.

Pros

There is a great work-life balance. The managers really care about your well-being and are so accommodating to make sure you can focus on your priority projects. If you're overwhelmed they're open to helping you out. The culture and environment is amazing. You can tell the company cares about their employees, and the team is great, and everyone is friendly and helpful, no matter what position they're in! You're also not limited to working only from your desk. If you want to work from the office cafe, you're more than welcome, and it's so nice and comfortable. The office's location is also a pro. It's near many stores and necessities for post-work errands, and it's in a beautiful area as well.

Cons

There are no cons I can think of.
