Pros
Overall Dignity Health has good intentions. They have a really solid mission they try and adhere to, and the pay was fair and the benefits were as well. They had some really good programs in place and the people were always kind and helpful.
Cons
My issue is with the specific hospital I worked at. St Joes in Phoenix has a good reputation in the community and when I accepted a job there I was very excited to be a party of the legacy of the hospital. The problem is the current CEO. And quite frankly the entire Executive team. Upper management were trying to push too many initiatives down the throats of tired and overwhelmed staff. The negative environment the constant pressure created made it a hard place to be. Especially when you know that upper level leaders openly speak ill of the people who support them. The rumor mill was awful at the executive level especially and often times hospital staff lacked the basic infrastructure to do our jobs effectively. Like comprehensive phone lists for a start. How can you expect the teams to buy into your 5 year plan when you don’t even give them basic resources?
