Pros

You learn a lot, you have options to advance even if it means investing time before moving around. Again, lots to learn. Challenging, overtime makes it worthwhile. Coworkers and supervisors have all been supportive amd communicative.

Cons

Training in remote immersive has been a double-edged sword. Cramming in the basics and figuring out the rest as you go when you havent graspped the full understanding of sometimes complex issues that may arise puts a wedge between you and an irate customer. Some things are better with classroom training so the csr is better aware, and equipped with the knowledge of how to fix these issues head on. To be fair, on average most CSRs that I've spoken with that were seasoned for years said it took them at least 3 years to feel comfortable and confident with the position.

Pros

- wfh - equipment provided - 2 raises a year

Cons

- very cliquey - OT is only 2 additional hours a day. nothing more - management prioritizes metrics over employees’ wellbeing - zero downtime in between calls. constantly back to back from beginning to end of shift - other depts do not hold their weight, which results in CSR’s having to do twice the work. can/will lead to burnout - union uwua local 1-2 does not advocate for members like they should. they are very cozy with con ed management. will be lackadaisical with member requests
