Pros
In my particular niche of ConAgra, the leaders are easy to get along with and seem to generally care about their direct reports. Overall, it has been the least confrontational place that I have ever worked. Work-life balance is the best that I have ever had in any past position.
Cons
I think that the reason there is minimal confrontation is that no one is held accountable for their actions... and there is a general sense of complacency.... as long as the upper management are not breathing down our neck to get something done.... If you try to do the right thing and be the moral conscience (which you should for QA), watch out.... or you may find yourself thrown under the bus.... One more gripe... there is a level of middle management that is excluded from bonuses, while the hourly folks below, and the higher level management get rewarded for meeting KPI's..... There is something inherently wrong in abusing the core group that helps drive success....
