Great Staff on the Ground, Poor Management Above - Center Director Concentra Employee Review

Pros

Teams in the clinic are hardworking. Occupational medicine is an interesting field. Employees are to make a lot of contacts throughout different industries during the course of the day.

Cons

It is normal to have 70-hour work weeks for months at a time. Hourly staff compensation is poor, so managers often have to step in to perform several other people's duties, as positions are vacated or remain open for long periods of time. McDonald's feel to the business model: give the cheapest prices and try to get the most people in. Care suffers and it creates a poor work/life balance as staff struggles to meet excessive efficiency goals. Directors of Operation are reactionary, rather than working with the clinics proactively. No sense of team between clinics and middle/upper management.

Pros

I enjoyed the technical challenges working with extremely passionate and talented people. The benefits and compensation are competitive, and I had so much to offer given a little more time.

Cons

Unfortunately, it is a revolving door. Management is vastly unqualified and by title only. They had no on-boarding process and communication was extremely poor or lacking altogether. They are fire happy and terminate people like nothing without regard for tenure which almost seems deliberate. Several very experienced and tenured people were terminated the week before I was. One of which had moved to another team which created the vacancy for my position.
