Pros

Small teams, mostly good people. I enjoyed supporting my peers.

Cons

(I'm I.T. so I get to see everything, and I get ignored by management, so they forget I'm nearby. Here's the truth, as I get to see it.) Concora (previously 'Genesis Financial Services') have a "startup culture" which means "do what you need to do to get the work done, even if it goes against the rules". Then, under review you're penalized for breaking the rules. (As a finance-adjacent company, those rules are sometimes for legal compliance.) If you do not support the culture and stick to the rules, you will be seen as 'not a team player' which has penalties, too. Get ANY promises in writing, and even then you may need to consult outside assistance. Lying to you is not illegal, and they know it. I have seen so many instances of people being lied to (and deliberately misled), and there was nothing they could do. The management is very cliquey and into office politicking / backstabbing. The new office is shiny and under-utilized, so expect to be called into the office as often as they can justify. ('100% remote' becomes '20% remote, maybe 10%'.) They claim to support work-life balance, but only when it's convenient... and keep your phone nearby when you're on vacation, "just in case". If you're salaried, expect to work additional hours every week. During crunch times (five or six times each year), expect that to be 80+ hour work weeks. "We'll make it up to you... later." Won't happen. When you push back, you become a target. There are a few reasons they fail annual compliance checks. The teams working to align compliance lose their jobs when the task is complete. Compliance requirements get in the way of getting work done cheaply, so they get ignored. (See "startup culture above".) "Us vs them" mentality among management leads to blame-shifting and social sabotage. Competition can be motivating! What this company has is not motivating; it's divisive. Most departures are swift and sudden. "See you on Monday, Bill! Oh, and before you go, (HR rep) needs you for something quick." (Termination meeting.) This place is the epitome of "bad workplace environment".
