Pros
Good pay/benefits. Employees have great capabilities. Some managers really do care for their employees and spend a great deal of time finding work for them to avoid layoffs or furloughs.
Cons
Sinking ship! Layoffs and furloughs are happening constantly and they have been able to squash the local media and misrepresent numbers of employees laid off by twisting the facts. Losing top employees due to the uncertainty and will be left with low performers. Company leadership has no idea how to bring in real contract awards and compete with larger companies that have a lot more to offer. Top leadership is home-grown and doesn't understand what it takes to compete in this market. Company will never change if the top leaders are still there and the leadership will never change because of the small town thinking and nepotism. Everyone is afraid to "rock the boat" so they will just let it sink! If you are looking for somewhere to sit back and relax, this is the place. No one really challenges employees or pushes them to do better/more.
