Pros
A steady paycheck. Find the 'good' people and latch on for dear life. They'll help you stay sane.
Cons
The biggest disappointment is the discrepancy between what the CEO says he wants-- accountability, authenticity, boldness--and the people he appointed to top leadership positions who do not reflect these values. At the beginning of the year, I was excited to hear the direction that the CEO wanted to take the company. As reality set in, it was apparent that he does not have the right people in the driver's seats. It's confusing for employees to hear one thing from the CEO and different things from his direct reports. If the CEO truly wants accountability, authenticity, and boldness, then why are these unprincipled men in positions of power? No clear picture of growth opportunities. They treat you like a commodity. Everything is 'urgent' because no one seems to know how to plan properly. A final piece of advice: do not get a company credit card. They do not pay the bill on time and you get stuck with the late fees.
