Pros

Awesome trainers. Paid above minimum wage.

Cons

Where to start? The schedules suck, and can change on a dime because despite being a call center, everyone in charge has poor communication skills. Hey do you miss high school? Good news, Conduent is just like that including lockers, having to ask permission to use the bathroom, and gossipy co-workers. Speaking of co- workers, because they will hire anyone with a pulse, and don’t drug test new hires, you’ll be privliged to work with some of society’s finest. The few competent employees they have all look like they’d rather get hit by a bus than work there, so the air is thick with depression at all times. To top it all off, your advancement and schedule is dictated by your metrics, which is great when you don’t get trained on their logging software until you hit the floor, and when you do use it, it crashes 50% of the time. Fun!

Pros

The only real advantage is the ability to work from home. My trainers were knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely tried to help despite the limitations of the training program.

Cons

The training is far too rushed for the complexity of the job. The trainers themselves are not the problem—they did their best—but two weeks of training followed by one week of nesting is simply not enough. You're expected to learn numerous systems, document calls accurately, understand complex fraud procedures, and handle back-to-back calls from frustrated or angry customers with very little hands-on practice. There wasn't enough call shadowing or realistic mock calls to build confidence before taking live calls. The learning curve is overwhelming, and the high turnover rate reflects that. On top of that, the pay does not match the stress, workload, or expectations of the position.
