Pros

The biggest reason I stayed here so long was the coworkers and the clients. As a long-term employee, I worked with many wonderful people, a great manager, and an amazing technology team. I had numerous clients over the years, and some were difficult, but most of them made my work worth it. The opportunity to work independently as a remote employee for the past 18 years was one of the biggest incentives for staying.

Cons

The biggest disappointment of working here was the salary. It started great, and over the years it dwindled. Low earnings overall meant no increases. Low earnings in other departments meant no increases even for those departments that met/exceeded their goals. Promised bonuses that were then walked back, because of lower-than-expected company quarter-end earnings. Plus, no opportunities for advancement in your department. Layoffs that were done piecemeal, 2 people here, 1 person there, rather than just ripping off the bandage and letting them go at once, so the rest of the team knew they were secure.

Pros

The only real advantage is the ability to work from home. My trainers were knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely tried to help despite the limitations of the training program.

Cons

The training is far too rushed for the complexity of the job. The trainers themselves are not the problem—they did their best—but two weeks of training followed by one week of nesting is simply not enough. You're expected to learn numerous systems, document calls accurately, understand complex fraud procedures, and handle back-to-back calls from frustrated or angry customers with very little hands-on practice. There wasn't enough call shadowing or realistic mock calls to build confidence before taking live calls. The learning curve is overwhelming, and the high turnover rate reflects that. On top of that, the pay does not match the stress, workload, or expectations of the position.
