Pros
potential for remote work can move laterally easily can obtain promotions, but can lose work from home status in doing so
Cons
Once getting to supervisor, often over worked. Work load is dependent on which team you work for, some teams very understaffed and demanding too much from all involved with in the team. Some teams are great, some are very disorganized and demanding. If you can find a slower paced team and move up with in it, it has potential. All supervisor rolls are mandatory in office. Permanent remote positions are limited and often promised with out following through.
