Pros
Good benefits for crane operators which are considered salary plus employees (salary pay with overtime). 4 days on and 4 days off schedule if you're not having to work overtime.
Cons
Pay should be higher. Cranes never get proper maintenance. If something does not work on your crane that you need, it can take weeks to get fixed. It will not get fixed until the company gets downtime because of it. They expect you to give your life outside of the job to them. Depending on the crane, it can be extremely stressful with no time for bathroom breaks without getting questioned about it. Raises are based on how much overtime you will work instead of performance. The mid year and end of year job performance is graded by someone that has never seen you work a single time. They randomly choose what grades to give you on everything except the amount of overtime worked. That is seriously all you're graded on. To try and convince people to strive to work as much overtime you can stand, they implemented a reward system for it. You get special tokens that you can only spend at a special store they have. This place will absolutely let you work every single day if you want to. If you like overtime, it's great. Some people work 30+ days of 12 hour shifts. One guy worked 102 days of 12 hour shifts straight without a day off. The only reason he got day 103 off was because there was an outage and the plant did not have any power in that department.
