Consumers Energy

Is this your company?

Old, slow, and very political regulated utility business. - Anonymous employee Consumers Energy Employee Review

Pros

Good benefits on paper. Difficult to take advantage of PTO if you have a job that actually requires production. Average pay if you are actually qualified for the job title.

Cons

The company has a higher percentage of unqualified employees simply filling seats than anywhere I have ever worked. Approximately 10% of the staff carry the the rest. Executive directors and up are even more poorly qualified. 95% are scared politicians with minimal understanding of the areas of work they are responsible for. With their traditional business model now expiring, I expect "equitable" efforts at cost cutting to accelerate the unbalanced ratio of performing staff to dead weight staff.
