Pros

Wonderful co workers, salary and benefits

Cons

I am a 16 year former employee of Consumer's Energy and sadly I can say I know a lot of people who are being affected currently by the layoffs and the return to work requirements. The layoffs aren't potential they are happening daily, employees are being walked off work sites, with no prior warning, some are being called at home and told they are done and asked to mail their equipment in. Leadership does not care about their employees mental health or work life balance. As for the return to work, all remote workers have been told they are to return to the office 3 days a week by 5/15, due to that being the end of the Pandemic. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday are the days they are going to be working in office. Now granted we were told in 2020 that we could stay remote and even move out of state and work. Employees at this point don't even know where they are reporting too yet. Leadership is having calls and sending emails with staff but any emails with staff are not able to be forwarded or saved. It's a sad day to wear the colors. EMPLOYEES ARE JUST NUMBERS NOW TO HELP ELEVATE THE BOTTOM LINE AND THE SHAREHOLDERS PROFITS.
