Pros

Continental Properties is a highly results-driven organization that can set and periodically meets goals.

Cons

Continental Properties is a highly results-driven organization that can set and periodically meets goals. However, the emphasis on outcomes often overshadows the value of the individuals behind those results. In my experience, it was uncommon to build meaningful connections or be recognized for contributions beyond performance metrics. Leaders at the director level and above tend to prioritize results over relationships, with limited effort to understand or engage with their teams on a personal level. It is not uncommon for leaders to be disengaged from their teams and not have a meaningful relationship with those who are at an individual contributor level. While Continental promotes a culture of embracing individuality and respect, that message often feels conditional—especially when results fall short. Expectations are exceptionally high, sometimes to the point of being unrealistic, making it difficult to consistently meet or exceed targets. Career advancement within the organization is limited, particularly for those in support functions rather than revenue-driving roles. Even high performers often remain stagnant in their positions unless they're in departments with frequent turnover. Several of my peers have experienced stagnation in their roles, largely due to a lack of advocacy from leadership for well-deserved and earned promotions. Meanwhile, other departments regularly advance individuals under the guise of 'business needs.' Unfortunately, strong work ethic often goes unrecognized, while office politics continue to influence daily decisions. Recognition from senior leadership is rare. Despite contributing to several high-impact projects that supported Directors, Senior Directors, and even VPs, simple acknowledgments like a thank-you were seldom given. Positive feedback is more commonly shared peer-to-peer, with little reinforcement or appreciation from those in higher leadership positions. When recognition or gratitude does come from leadership, it often feels scripted or insincere—more of a box to check than a genuine expression of appreciation. This lack of authenticity contributes to an impersonal and transactional work environment, where employees may feel undervalued despite their efforts. Over time, employee incentives have been reduced in the name of budget constraints, even as leadership continues to push for improved performance. Strategic goals have consistently fallen short since 2021, and in the past year, only 35% of company-wide objectives were achieved. As a result, the BAAB bonus was the lowest it's been in years. As a job seeker, I would caution those considering Continental Properties. It is a place best suited for individuals who thrive in a highly results-oriented and impersonal environment. The company’s stated commitment to valuing people often does not match the day-to-day experience.

Pros

I do mean this genuinely... this is the best place I've ever worked at. Really excellent culture. The flexible hours are great. It's a pleasure to interact with all my wonderful coworkers and I look forward to going to with everyday. The benefits are quite excellent in my opinion. Beautiful properties. Overall, I'm proud to work here! I do see some comments about a lack of support, and I'm sure everyone's experience is different and it's not fair for me to judge someone else's experience, but I have never personally felt that way. If anything, it shows me they trust their employees and won't micromanage you. However, I've never been left "high or dry"-- they offer immense training documentation in my department and are working to further that! I feel pushed, but in a good way... I'm "better than ever before" as they say. :) Again, this is just one experience, but it's my truth.

Cons

Small nitpicks, but the positives very much outweigh the negatives. As some reviews have mentioned, having holidays like MLK Day and Juneteenth off would go a long way. I think adding these holidays would show you "putting your money where your mouth is" in terms of turning words into action when it comes to YBH. I do think we need to be more realistic with our goals (specifically ones where they impact bonuses) as this is a challenging time industry wise (lots of inventory).
