As an organization, we actively solicit feedback and input on goals, objectives, and process. Current employees have significant means to communicate directly with all levels of management. We appreciate the feedback in this review and we have been and will continue to address concerns brought forth by current and former employees. We believe this review is not an accurate representation of our company culture nor the management style we promote within the company.
As an organization we believe in promoting from within. In fact, 87% of our management team was promoted into the role from within. In 2018 alone we promoted 24% of our organization (that is 30+ employees). We provide career guidance, training and performance management that allow our employees to be fully engaged in their career and have a path for growth.
Regarding Transparency: We have all-company meetings every two weeks, where executives and team members present information on the state of the business, major projects, big wins and financials. This is done in order to be as transparent as possible. Our management does quarterly road shows that are a deep dive into the business goals – progress made and where we need to move to going forward. In addition, we have a performance management in place where employees set goals with their manager and meet quarterly to track progress and adjust when needed.
Due to these efforts to be transparent, promote from within, and focus on employee growth, our turnover for 2017 was 7% and for 2018 it is 8%. The average tenure at CDM is over 6 years. We were awarded recognition as a Great Place to Work, as well as one of the best Small & Medium Workplaces in the country. This is an employee-driven award – they are surveyed by an outside company and only the top companies make the list. We have an amazing company culture.
We empower women in this organization. In fact, 48% of our management team is female. We do not discriminate in any way in this organization. We promote based on team member performance, simple as that.
