Free Greasy/Subpar Breakfast Fridays???? Free excel classes

- Internal Promotions? Nope ---only for the 10 favorite employees - Transparent? Nope - Bully employees? Yup - Verbally and Emotionally abusive Director? Yup, especially to women! - Several employees had to seek therapy for abuse by their managers? Yup. The first 3 sessions were covered by the co, but everyone needed more than 3 sessions. - Manager wrote a bullying list on team member on an internal website and HR did nothing - Employees lied to about when they will get promoted? Yup! I was specifically told I was being promoted to another department and then another day told I wasn't good enough. - Manager is allowed to make personal phone calls all day long and shop shop shop shop on the internet? Yup - Director tells their employees that they will never get promoted because they are not good enough. They offered no reasoning after that when pressed for actual performance data. - Manager hoards all the work and projects for years so no other employees can contribute to get promoted...which leads to every employee in the department leaving - Company promotes mental health with yoga, but being verbally abusive to employees is acceptable?????

As an organization, we actively solicit feedback and input on goals, objectives, and process. Current employees have significant means to communicate directly with all levels of management. We appreciate the feedback in this review and we have been and will continue to address concerns brought forth by current and former employees. We believe this review is not an accurate representation of our company culture nor the management style we promote within the company. As an organization we believe in promoting from within. In fact, 87% of our management team was promoted into the role from within. In 2018 alone we promoted 24% of our organization (that is 30+ employees). We provide career guidance, training and performance management that allow our employees to be fully engaged in their career and have a path for growth. Regarding Transparency: We have all-company meetings every two weeks, where executives and team members present information on the state of the business, major projects, big wins and financials. This is done in order to be as transparent as possible. Our management does quarterly road shows that are a deep dive into the business goals – progress made and where we need to move to going forward. In addition, we have a performance management in place where employees set goals with their manager and meet quarterly to track progress and adjust when needed. Due to these efforts to be transparent, promote from within, and focus on employee growth, our turnover for 2017 was 7% and for 2018 it is 8%. The average tenure at CDM is over 6 years. We were awarded recognition as a Great Place to Work, as well as one of the best Small & Medium Workplaces in the country. This is an employee-driven award – they are surveyed by an outside company and only the top companies make the list. We have an amazing company culture. We empower women in this organization. In fact, 48% of our management team is female. We do not discriminate in any way in this organization. We promote based on team member performance, simple as that. We will continue to learn from these experiences and do our very best to provide an environment where everyone feels safe and supported.

Pros

-office great amenities -smart coworkers -modern tech stack -great wlb -extremely good severance package

Cons

-around q2 2025 the atmosphere felt stale, upper management was ghosting us and seemed like no exciting projects in pipeline -turns out the plan was to cut the entire company, due to overlap from redfin acquisition -shitty turn of events but it is what it is, severance is the best ive seen so at least Varun was considerate
