Pros
The atmosphere of the graduate school and my department is very relaxed, which allows you to focus on getting research and other responsibilities done. Bureaucracy doesn't seem too bad.
Cons
Well, you're in the middle of nowhere. If you're used to a real city, this can get annoying, especially if you plan on spending six years here. Sure, there's good bus service to NYC, but that's only good for a short vacation every now and then, at best.
