Pros
There are many resources available to you and Professors genuinely love their work. The students are bright, and for the most part very hard working. It is rewarding and you can see the result of your work in the students very quickly. There is good feedback from Professors regarding the quality of your work.
Cons
Upper management from the university (above the departmental level) is very disorganized and often treats faculty and staff very poorly. There is limited communications between departments and university heads, and as the upper levels there is little care for the quality of education that the university should maintain. There is often a conflict of interest between faculty and staff that are trying to teach, and the business interests of the university. Often, the university would rather look good on the surface than really acknowledge underlying problems within the school.
