Pros
Working at Cornerstone, I feel as though I am part of an organization that is making a difference. There is a strong emphasis placed on helping people achieve their home-owning dreams and being a part of the community. Teamwork and cooperation between departments are highly valued. Employees are treated with respect and dignity. We are never treated like cogs in a machine which is impressive from a company of this size. I like that I have been presented with opportunities for advancement over the five years that I have worked here. The company is expanding and growing all the time which provides a sense of job security. There is a lot of flexibility in the sense that employees are allowed to work from home when necessary and given leniency when personal situations arise. Work/life balance (while nearly impossible no matter where you work) seems attainable here. Pay is competitive.
Cons
None specific to this company. Working in the mortgage industry feels sometimes like a bit of a risk given the dependence on the markets and the fairly recent housing crisis.
