Supported Employment Specialist - Supported Employment Specialist Cornerstone Montgomery Employee Review

Pros

Generally fun co-workers, very youthful. Definitely not boring as you travel throughout the county a lot and meet clients all over the place. Caseloads keep it interesting. Overall a fun place to work if you can afford to live on a poverty level salary. I'm amazed I worked there for just a tad over 2 years.

Cons

Very low pay. Base salary for a Job Coach (Supported Employment Specialist) in 2011 was $27,000 a year (I negotiated $33k). Can't live on that. Also, company is comprised mostly of social worker types, which is expected given it's a mental health agency; however, it's often not an effective way to attack job search. They don't have a solid grasp on business (which a job coach needs).
