Pros

-Good place to work right after college if interested in mental health. You get exposure to clients with severe and persistent mental health disorders and contact with other professional staff such as psychiatrists and therapists

Cons

- The pay is laughably bad - The supported employment specialist position is very hard to do in 40 hours a week. With visiting people at their work site (and I had clients that worked only nights or weekends) and attending trainings when a client is a new hire. scheduling can be a challenge. Technically, you are supposed to be able to flex your time but this isn't always possible -Tons and tons of paperwork - impossible to move up in the agency if you are interested in direct service and don't have a MSW - Not a good place to stay after a year or so. Get some experience and get out
