Pros

Friendly coworkers, learning opportunities, good hours, commission, some nice residents, company parties, sometimes get free food if there are leftovers from resident events.

Cons

Maintenance isn’t treated as good as office staff company wide, commissions are a small amount and based off move-in reviews then split between entire maintenance team whereas office staff commission is twice as much and given regardless of the review to the employee that leased it, on calls, at the beck and whim of the office staff (who complain a lot), raises are only ever 3%.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Cortland. Our service teams are the backbones of our communities, and we are greatly appreciative of all the work they do on a daily basis for our residents. Across our company, we strive to treat all associates with the same level of respect, so we regret that you have ever had an impression of preferential treatment. We will certainly take this feedback into consideration as we continue to improve, but if there is ever anything else we can assist you with, please feel free to reach out at talentresources@cortland.com. -Brian L., Vice President of Integrated Facilities Management

Pros

Good environment for professional growth, the team is collaborative and willing to share knowledge.

Hard to grow, big prefference on external candidates. For higher roles, not a stable working environment
