Pros

Pay, benefits, not much else

Cons

Democratically aligned public company with language in their handbook that only protects the salaried, company, and weak employees. DEI ruined a lot of the culture here. The amount of politics even at a store level are disgusting. I was getting passed by severly under qualified individuals who had just been hired by family and friends. I was harassed, retaliated against, had my job threatened in multiple closed door intimidation environments, and even suffered physical and mental health loss. My experience with HR was less than professional and my claims were dismissed and I was forced into hostile situations leading to more distress. After a 13 year career and about 5 years of dealing with constant harassment and abuse by management and other employees I was left no option but to quit. I attempted their open door policy and was rejected multiple times.

Pros

Very affordable high quality health insurance benefits even for PT employees. Great for working parents who split up child care and need coverage. The key to succeeding at Costco is to work hard, have a good attitude and be nice to people. It's hard work and fasted paced, you have to be down for that to succeed.

Cons

At this warehouse you are required to work 5 days per week, even if you are PT at 24 or so hours. This means lots of 4-5 hour shifts rather than fewer 8 hour shifts which is tough for those who commute a long distance to work or have to cover day care.
