I (Ted Forbes, Head of People Ops) am sorry you left us feeling frustrated and dissatisfied, and I certainly respect your feedback. Compensation is a tough item, and it consistently ranks low in every single company I have been part of. At Cotopaxi, we start our full-time and part-time Distribution Center (DC) employees at $17/hour; team leads can make as much as $18.50/hour. And there's plenty of opportunity for overtime pay at 1.5x. I'll also note that we benchmark the local market regularly and pay at or above the median. For example, search salary.com for "average warehouse worker pay in Salt Lake City" and you'll find that the local median rate is $15.29/hour; our starting wage of $17/hour puts us at about the 75th percentile.
All that said, yes we are growing rapidly and I, along with the rest of the leadership team, would agree we are no longer a start-up. That means there are, and will continue to be, growing pains as we scale. But we do believe that we have a very special company that is a great place to work. I wish you the best of luck in your next job.
