Pros

-Co-workers are all fun to work with -Learn new skills like Food management, and preparation. -Flexible work schedules; decide which days and shifts work for you. -Meeting residents

Cons

-Unfair shifts; Some shifts might require more work while others barely require any at all. -Work under hard conditions like heat, humidity, while trying to meet a time schedule. -Managers that only tell you what to do, and not help you to do them. Most managers sit around the office all day on the computer. -Being understaffed or overstaffed: Between May-August, country meadows is overstaffed with college students returning for summer work giving less hours to others. But between August-April lack of staff requires everyone to work more hours then needed or wanted. While still only receiving the benefits of part time, not full-time, even if exceeding 40+ hours a pay period. -Company reviews are done by the management, not by the employees. Giving a biased rating.

Thank you for your hard work helping our residents enjoy mealtime. Working in senior care can be challenging and we are happy you are part of our team. We’re thrilled that for the 11th time, Country Meadows was chosen as one of the Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania. This designation is based on 100% anonymous co-worker feedback, gathered directly by the Best Places to Work Foundation. In fact, we ranked our highest in 2014, coming in as the 13th Best Place to Work. Our team keeps a pulse on the current wages offered in the senior care industry and works hard to compensate co-workers fairly. Additionally, Country Meadows utilizes a system to offer incentives to co-workers who go above and beyond expectations consistently. For co-workers who want to advance their knowledge and skills, we offer free Career Paths and training programs, and believe that hard work should be rewarded. We’re proud of our co-workers who have completed these ladders and have many success stories to share.

Pros

I have been at Country Meadows for over 17 years, as have many of my teammates. One of the things I value most is working for a truly family-owned company where the owners are actively involved in the day-to-day operations. They genuinely care for both employees and residents.

Cons

There is a lot to do in a day's work, however it is very rewarding.

We are thrilled to hear that you appreciate the family-owned aspect of our company culture. When residents and their loved ones are welcomed on campus and supported by co-workers like you, they get a glimpse into how we genuinely care for our residents as if they are an extension of our own families. Like you said, it is a busy role but surely a rewarding one when we have privilege to care for our residents! Thank you for all you do and for dedicating so much for your career to supporting our residents.
