Pros

It's the place to work if you have lost your job, are coming out of school or changing careers and need a stepping stone for your next real job. They will pay US based employees more to attract them even if they subpar, so they can have a presence in the US and compete for talent with US based employers. Many sales reps don't hit their quotas and still manage to stay employed. Large enterprise customers.

Cons

If you are based in the US, there are 100s of better companies to work for. Below average salaries and benefits, especially when compared to other tech companies they try to compare themselves too. Health plan and 401K are useless but they somehow believe they are competitive. Strategy is to hire 2 employees for the price of 1 - this explains why such a small company has so many employees, ratio of employees to sales volume is illogical. Canadian employees are very underpaid compared to US counterparts and this is by design to attract US based employees, who have so many better companies and jobs to choose from. Sales is a very mixed bag - VPs are great and supportive, a handful of account reps are very good and have been working there for years , managing some of the larger well established accounts. Most others are absolutely terrible, constantly complaining and blaming everyone else for their failures, lack of sales and taking credit from other teams for any wins. It's unclear why they are still employed and why they are being protected by upper management. CRO has to be the worst I have ever encountered, is very political and cannot be trusted, His lack of experience and credibility is obvious , so he steals everyone else's ideas and takes credit for them. Unless you make him look good and blindly follow his direction, he will find a way to get rid of you through one of his minions. His personal reputation is also questionable so just be very careful. CEO loves to hear himself speak and keeps changing messaging strategy every few months as if suffering from so sort of attention deficit disorder. They keep hiring nobody's, with little experience , who have failed elsewhere and give them big titles or promote them with made-up names like Chief Growth Officer, just to realize how useless they are and get rid of them 18 months later, This is a Quebec City ( French Canada ) based company that thinks very highly of themselves, almost in an arrogant way, but you quickly realize they are really not that special , especially when you learn they have been selling the same software for 15 years and have still not gone IPO.

Pros

Coveo has a great product and a good group of people with whom you interact on a daily basis. Good commission rates and quota seems to be achievable as a yearly quota, even though you are measured quarterly.

Cons

Less than a week and a half in, I was asked by management how my pipeline build was going. It went downhill from there. There are many unrealistic goals for pipeline building and expectations of the number of qualified deals you have to pipe each month. Quota starts on day one and is completely misaligned with the average sales cycle, putting you in a hole almost immediately from a quarterly quota attainment standpoint. You as the Account Executive are the only one responsible for pipeline build, no other teams are accountable, which was not communicated in the hiring process. Meetings are focused exclusively on what you're doing to drive business, with little to no interest in where you may be facing challenges or how the organization can help you in those deals. There’s no feedback loop or collaboration between Sales and Management, making it difficult to raise concerns, share ideas, or get the help needed to succeed. Additionally, there are no team meetings to collaborate on what’s working or not—leaving reps isolated and unsupported. In my experience to date, it can be a very demotivating place to work.
