Pros

Problems are addressed quickly, the product evolves on a daily basis, the team is a fantastic set of individuals who work tremendously hard & are always available to help, the CEO is eager to assist with questions and/or problems and the office space while a bit crowded is beautiful. The benefits are excellent as well.

Cons

The job is never done, and it's not uncommon to find yourself working again once you're home after the day is done. The team is small which means you'll often have to teach yourself things and "make it happen" since everyone is already doing so much themselves. But these "cons" are the reality of any startup!

Pros

Consistent workflow: Since joining in 2018, I’ve had a steady stream of assignments across different cities. Cozymeal does a good job connecting freelancers with real clients and events. Clear communication: Project briefs are usually detailed, and the team is responsive when questions come up. Scheduling, shoot expectations, and deliverable guidelines are straightforward. Flexible schedule: As a freelancer, I appreciate that I can choose which gigs to accept. There’s no pressure to take on jobs that don’t fit my calendar. Professional clients: Most chefs, hosts, and culinary partners are great to work with and understand the creative process, making shoots smooth and enjoyable. Reliable payment: Payments are consistent and on time, which is something not all gig-based platforms handle well.

Cons

Variable volume of work: Depending on the season and market, shoot opportunities can fluctuate — some months are packed while others are quieter.

Pros

Honestly not many. Pay is usually on time.

Cons

I have worked in multiple start-ups but this is by far the worst. It is very disorganized with no clear reporting lines. This is due to constant bottlenecks as the CEO insists that he signs every detail off. Yes, it is his company but he thinks buzzwords and cost-cutting makes up for the suffocating culture and weak product. During my time there I saw many colleagues replaced without warning and there is a general lack of trust. When I had to speak to the CEO he was trying to involve himself in all my tasks so there is simply no autonomy or growth. The lack of HR is also deeply unprofessional.
