Pros

I have been working with Cozymeal for almost four years now, and I would like to share my impressions of working at this company. Here are some of the positive aspects I can highlight about my experience: Team: The team is simply wonderful! We often need to communicate with one another, resolve issues, and clarify details, and I have never encountered any problems in this regard. Everyone is friendly and approachable. There has never been any animosity from team members. Tasks: As a website developer, I have a wide range of tasks to handle. Not all of them are easy, but from a career growth and experience perspective, I am always learning something new. The variety of tasks ensures that there is never a dull moment. Support: When I face difficulties or have questions, I can always reach out to the team or the owner of the company. CEO: I often have direct collaboration with our CEO. In the past, I had my own small company that specialized in website development and support, and I have experience managing a small team. I respect Sam and appreciate his working style. People often overlook how important the project is to Sam and how deeply he invests himself in it, caring about its success. I can always approach Sam if I have questions or need advice. He strives to implement additional engaging meetings for the team. When I encounter something I don't know as a developer, Sam is willing to fund extra courses, and he offers this support willingly. Furthermore, it is significant that Sam listens to us and trusts us as developers. Because of this, I feel like a part of the project rather than just a mere executor. Furthermore, the project itself is important to me. I am still interested in working on it, and I care about it as if it were my own project, striving to do everything I can to make it even better.

Cons

I find it hard to identify any serious downsides. At the beginning of my work, I often overworked, but that was my personal issue. I needed more time to understand all the details of the project. Now, even on my days off, I can check some reports on the website, think about improvements, and it's not because I'm being forced to do so, but because I'm genuinely interested. One possible downside is that we sometimes have a lot of tasks, which can affect prioritization. However, as a team, we are working on this, and I believe it is not something critical.

Pros

Consistent workflow: Since joining in 2018, I’ve had a steady stream of assignments across different cities. Cozymeal does a good job connecting freelancers with real clients and events. Clear communication: Project briefs are usually detailed, and the team is responsive when questions come up. Scheduling, shoot expectations, and deliverable guidelines are straightforward. Flexible schedule: As a freelancer, I appreciate that I can choose which gigs to accept. There’s no pressure to take on jobs that don’t fit my calendar. Professional clients: Most chefs, hosts, and culinary partners are great to work with and understand the creative process, making shoots smooth and enjoyable. Reliable payment: Payments are consistent and on time, which is something not all gig-based platforms handle well.

Cons

Variable volume of work: Depending on the season and market, shoot opportunities can fluctuate — some months are packed while others are quieter.

Pros

Honestly not many. Pay is usually on time.

Cons

I have worked in multiple start-ups but this is by far the worst. It is very disorganized with no clear reporting lines. This is due to constant bottlenecks as the CEO insists that he signs every detail off. Yes, it is his company but he thinks buzzwords and cost-cutting makes up for the suffocating culture and weak product. During my time there I saw many colleagues replaced without warning and there is a general lack of trust. When I had to speak to the CEO he was trying to involve himself in all my tasks so there is simply no autonomy or growth. The lack of HR is also deeply unprofessional.
