Pros

Talented people are often allowed to rise within the organization. The company allows movement from one division to another; increasing advancement opportunities. Manufacturing in the US at some of the divisions for engineered products. Transition from a holding company to more hands-on management continues.

Cons

Crane is decades past its peak in the fluid handling field, as are most of its competitors. So the cons are associated with the market as much as with the company. Manufacture of commodity items is all overseas and Crane no longer has much control of quality or design. As a result, there is little to differentiate their product, and quality is variable. Growth of the market is not a realistic expectation.

Pros

None. They took all our benefits and overwork everyone. Moral is in hell.

Cons

Everything. I can't think of one good think about Crane Co. The culture is abhorrent and archaic. They tout that they care for employees but then take all the benefits we had and expect us to thank them for it and work harder for less. Crane overpaid for our businesses and now they are desperately trying to squeeze us for anything they can get, but they are not making back the $1B they spent in the next 20+ years. I loved my job and the company I work for before they took over.
