Pros
Crane Currency has an impressive history and an even brighter future. Unique blend of high tech and centuries old craftsmanship. Dedicated and highly motivated workforce. Senior management is focused, intuitive, incredibly smart, and best of all very accessible to all levels of employees. When I first arrived at Crane three years ago I had some trepidation about how successful I'd be working in a for-profit company, since I'd worked for not-for-profits most of my career. However, my manager and peers helped me learn the currency business and how best to apply the skills I brought with me. Crane Currency is incredibly well run, and it's a privilege to work at such a great company. This is the best job I've had in my 30+ years in the workforce.
Cons
Some growing pains associated with taking what was essentially a family run business and turning it into a world class company competing on a global scale. Merging cultures and viewing the company as an integrated business, rather than standalone business units, is at times difficult--sometimes it seems as if it's one step forward and two steps back.
